Only a few hours left…

Hello Everyone,

Yeah, so it has been too long since I have posted any new news about the family. In short, Christmas was great, and we are going to have a baby tomorrow. Alicia goes in to get induced friday morning, and start the process. We pray everything goes well. We will post a few pictures and status updates here once the baby is here. Please pray for us.

Love,

Sickness at Davis Home

Well, it seems the H1N1 virus has hit our home really hard this week. Cami has it pretty bad with a high fever and a bad chest cough. Brooklyn is finally over her fever, and Anna is somewhere in the middle. I am doing pretty good with only a cough every 20 min or so. So, mine is pretty much gone. Alicia is being the trooper and has not gotten it yet. She did get her H1N1 flu shot on Monday, so that has to be what has kept her safe from this. Been no fun. I really don’t like to see my kids suffer like this. It makes me sad to see their sad little faces when they are so sick.

Hopefully we will get better soon!

Blogging

Hello Everyone,

Been a week or so since my last post. I am hoping to get regular and try and post 3 to 4 times a month. I have a goal, and lets see if I can stick to it. It feels good to get my feelings written down. Very therapeutic.

I have been having to have a lot of patience lately. I just have to remember that things usually don’t just get fixed overnight. They take time, and I have to be patient. As we all know, that is hard, but I am doing my best. It has been really good to have Alicia’s dad here. He showed up right at the right time last week. I got a nasty spout of the flu. Must have been H1N1, but I never went into the doctors. My fever broke on Friday, and I had a lot of stuff in my chest, kinda like bronchitis. It is still all clearing out, but I am feeling much better, and am now back to work. Brooklyn caught it a few days ago, so that was no fun. We got her into the Drs right away, and they gave her some Tamiflu, and that has helped a ton for her.

Work is going good. There are a ton of projects we are working on before the end of the year. I am doing an analysis of all the Server systems and working on getting upgrades and changes ordered…

So, our little family is doing good. Just super glad that I have a family, and they support me.

Love to Everyone!

Progress

Nov 10th

Hello Everyone,

Alicia is doing good. We are seeing a lot of progress, and that is what is important. She still find herself confused at certain times of the day. But that concentration issue is most likely related to her gestational diabeties. And she is handleing her ups and downs well. It is tough, but we are making it work.

So, we are dealing with a lot right now, but thanks to an awesome ward family, and an amazing family, we are moving forward. Alicia’s Dad will be here on Thursday, and stay through Thanksgiving.

Alicia got a note from Elder Jeffery R Holland last week. It read:

“Alicia – I love you and so does the Lord. Please know that you and your family will be blessed. – Jeffrey R Holland”

It was a great boost to Alicia.

Thank u everyone for your love and prayers. I appreciate it very much.

Alicia update #32

Hi everyone Kristy here  (Mom Davis).

Nate asked me to do a little up-date.  Today started off a little shaky as nerves got Alicia knowing we were headed to her regular Psychiatric Doctor today for a follow.  We reassured her that is was all for helping her get back to feeling better,  she was able to work through her feelings and did really well.  Things are progressing in the right direction, yes there are ups and downs in the day but that is to be expected after something so tramatic.  In general we are optomistic she will continue to take baby steps forward.  The Dr. feels Alicia should continue on all the medications for the next month, should not driving and continue to have help at home at least for the month of November.  She will go back on the 19th of November to see how things are going and make any changes if needed.  Tomorrow we will go see the OB Doctor and make sure all is well with Alicia and see when they will schedule another ultra sound for the baby.

Today I met with the Relief Society President in their Ward who will help orgainze the women to take turns coming in to help Alicia and bring meals in 3 times a week  until Alicia’s Dad gets here.  She is a brand new Relief Society President and Alicia and I joked with her that we were “breaking her in”.  She laughed.  She seems like a wonderful woman eager to help where ever is needed.  I felt when we were done talking that Nate and Alicia and their precious family will be well cared for and that is what I needed to feel before I could take an emotional step,  that was to book my ticket home.  (I can hear my husband yelling for joy clear from Washington over that line:)

I have shed many tears tonight along with Nate & Alicia.   Alicia offered to give me some of her medication to help my emotions, which sounded pretty good at thetime:)  In the end the decision when was made and thanks to a kind offer from Family Friends I was able to book a round trip ticket home and back so that I can come back when needed after baby is born.   I will be flying out this Friday morning.

Again I am grateful to have been here and been able to help.  This last month has truly made our hearts stretch and I will be forever changed for the better because of it.   SO PROUD OF YOU  Nate, Alicia, Anna, Brooklyn & Cami!!!   FAMILIES ARE FOREVER!  You are in my prayers.  Love always MOM

Alicia’s making progress

Mom Davis here — Nate asked if I would post tonight’s entry.  Nate arrived home safe and sound from his trip to California Saturday afternoon. While he was gone  Alicia and I took the girls to the ward Luncheon and Trunk or Treat.  It was a great party and the girls had a wonderful time  and the ward welcomed Alicia back with open arms, she felt very comfortable there.   Right after the Halloween party we went and picked up Nate at the airport and I headed off for a weekend getaway with my Brother and Sister-in-law’s family Sue and Sheldon in Orem.  It was a fun break and gave Nate and Alicia and their little family a chance to be alone the first time in over a month.    Sunday Alicia was able to go to church and really enjoyed that, Nate said the weekend went good.  I was excited to hear that when I got home last night.

I have to take a moment and let my sweetie know how much I love him.  Yesterday was our 31st wedding anniversary – first one apart and although we hated being apart we both know I am where I am needed most - thanks Sweetie, LOVE YOU!

As for today, today was not the greattest as Alicia had a rough morning into early afternoon, very emotional, worried about baby and had lots of questions.  I finally called Nate about 1:30 to get his counsel and we both decided to keep trying our options before calling the Doctor.  I gave her a snack, had her try to lay down and then gave some more medication.  Finally about 3:00pm this afternoon things seemed to kick in and she had a great afternoon/evening.  Not sure what that was all about but things are better now thank goodness.  It makes me think twice about heading home Friday but right now that is my goal as I will have been gone from home for 36 days.  We will see what the next 2 days brings before I can make that decision.   The ward is willing and ready to step in where ever needed which is such a blessing, I will meet with the Relief Society President Wednesday to go over my observations.  We have 2 Doctor visits this week as well as some projects Alicia is hoping to get done.  Alicia’s father is coming on the 20th and Sister Cindy after that.

I must admit I am torn with the thoughts of leaving.  My love for Nate and Alicia has always been there but it has been deepened as I have watched them meet their challenges with love, courage and faith.  I know there will be lots of tears shed when I leave not just from me (that’s a given)    Our love has grown a hunderd fold through this trial.   Like Nate said one time “I hope the airport has flood insurance because it is going to pour!”

I again put my trust in the Lord that he can help me prepare my heart and all needed things before I leave the loving arms of this family and go into the loving arms of my Sweetheart and family in Washington.    Thank you again for all your love, prayers and support – they have truly lifted us when we needed it the most and miracles have happened and will continue to happen for this wonderful deserving young family.  Love always,  Mom Kristy

Alicia Update #30

Oct 30th – 8:15am

Morning Everyone. Alicia has had a good week. She is adjusting to homelife well. She had some rough days this week, and a few not so bad. But we are seeing progress in the forward direction, so that is wonderful.

I am actually posting this post from the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, CA. My company is having a corporate retreat here with a few speakers today. I got in yesterday afternoon. It has been a great break for me to walk around and see all the ocean life here at the beach. I saw a lot of Starfish and other fun things. I really wish my wife could have come, but that will be for another time. I will get back to my fam Saturday afternoon, and then give my Mom a much needed break for a little while. She is going to stick around for a few more days next week. Not exactly sure when she will head out, but it will really be a sad day when she goes back home. My Mom has been such a super trooper this whole month. I thank heaven everyday for my Mom. I have no clue how I would have handled everything without her.

I Love you Mom!

I posted some pictures my Mom took to my MobileMe gallery. They are pictures of the fall leaves, Halloween at my office, and the girls playing at McDs.

Well, I want everyone to know we are doing well, and taking each day one step at a time. We are going to make it through this all, and somehow the Lord will mold us better for it.

Love to everyone,
Nate
